FLOWER BASKET COLLAGE ART

FlwrBsktPrintFinally back at work on some new collages.  This is a digital piece, all done on the computer, using much of the old books pages, letters and images I’ve been collecting and scanning.  The flower basket is a black and white image that I hand colored.  Hope you like it!   Oh, and I’m having some blank notecards made with this design, as well as an 8″ x 10″ print ready for framing – they’ll be available for sale soon.

FABRIC BITS NOTE CARDS

Going through my bins of fabric today, it occurred to me that sewing together some little scrappy bits and attaching them to card stock would make cute note cards.  And writing a few encouraging words, or a funny Mae West quote (“too much of a good thing is wonderful”), would give them some more interest.  The text from a book on the green linen fabric just struck my funny bone and could certainly be used to describe me too many times!

PROJECTS IN THE WORKS

These last few weeks I’ve been asked to make some invitations and notecards.  First there was my niece’s baby shower.  She’s expecting twin boys and is decorating the babies’ room with an elephant theme in khaki and light blue, so I used that to design this invitation and thank you card for her.

Another project was to make notecards for a tennis player friend to give her girls, who also play tennis.

I made lots of sketches and decided on these as samples to show her.  We ended up using numbers one, three and four to personalize for the three girls.  They were printed on a cream-colored card stock with matching envelopes.

Next up is a wedding invitation suite for a couple who will be married in July. More on that in a future post!
