The assignment for Week 5 of the online course was to make abstracts with tissue paper, either hand painted, or already colored. I used both, since I had a stash of colored tissue already at hand. I love making abstract art, mostly non-representational, so this was an enjoyable project. These are the four that I posted.
PAINTING
WELL…
It probably appeared as though I had vanished from the blogging world, and I will just say that I was distracted by other things. Namely, knitting. It’s become my new obsession. But I want to get back to drawing, collaging and painting, so I thought the best way to keep myself on track was to reboot my blog. I’m going to try.
I did this gelli-printed piece to give an artist friend. We’re always talking about all the supplies and messes we have in our workrooms and this sentiment is perfect!

LITTLE SPARROW
Looking out my kitchen window, I saw a little sparrow in my forsythia hedge eating the flowers off the branches. I’ve been enjoying the birds in my yard for a long time now, but I had never noticed that’s what the sparrows were doing before! I couldn’t resist doing a quick little watercolor sketch of that little guy with a mouthful.
