Since we’re snowed in (again!) I took advantage and made a day of it in my art room. I painted some boards to use as backgrounds for future collages and put together this little work. The photo is one I’ve been holding onto for a long time. I don’t even remember where it came from, but more than likely it was part of a collection of cabinet cards I got at a flea market. So, little bits of paper, the label from a box of Cuban cigars, some tissue paper, and there you have it! Oh and, after scanning it into the computer, I added a few shapes digitally as well. Just experimenting.

Lighthouse Christmas Card
I have a little painting I did of a lighthouse for this year’s Christmas card. Done in watercolor. The inside has a simple “Merry Christmas” greeting in red and the set comes with red envelopes. They will be available at my etsy store on November 27. You can link to etsy from the right-hand column there.

Every Christmastime, for years now, I’ve been making Christmas cards for a woman in town. She likes to include a story related to the card design, making them very personal. I also do other artwork for her-framed illustrated sayings, painted signs, decorative items. For this Christmas, she wanted to give her granddaughters replicas of some antique hat forms she had seen in an antique store. A carpenter made the forms and I painted them. This is the first one, wearing a cloche of mine.
