A New Year

Well, there goes 2012. Welcoming 2013 with optimism and hope for peace, health and happiness. Let’s have some laughter too. Even with a pretty poor track record, I still find myself making resolutions – to be kind, to simplify (not easy for me!) and to enjoy life. Happy New Year!       Image

Every Christmastime, for years now, I’ve been making Christmas cards for a woman in town. She likes to include a story related to the card design, making them very personal. I also do other artwork for her-framed illustrated sayings, painted signs, decorative items. For this Christmas, she wanted to give her granddaughters replicas of some antique hat forms she had seen in an antique store. A carpenter made the forms and I painted them. This is the first one, wearing a cloche of mine.

Wow! where does the time go?  I’ll use Hurricane Sandy and a week without power as part of my excuse for being away for so long, but other than that… what can I say? We were so fortunate to just be inconvenienced for seven days with no electric and heat.  I’m now working on Christmas cards and decorations, and some gift items, so look for coming attractions in the SHOP soon.  It’s busy time!
